Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a fluids design engineer to craft gas systems for the Lunar Transfer Stage. You will manage the complete life cycle from definition to launch and operation, focusing on gas distribution, storage, and RCS thrusters. Lead design and analysis of valves, pumps, heat exchangers, and piping.

The role requires a mechanical/ aerospace background with 3–5 years in aerospace fluid systems, experience with CAD, simulations, and GD&T. WA base pay range is listed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of aerospace fluid or mechanical design experience including testing and verification.
• Hands-on experience building/testing mechanical assemblies or pressurized systems.
• Familiar with engineering tools like Simulink, Matlab, Thermal Desktop, EES, Aft Arrow.
• Experience in 3D CAD (Creo preferred).
• Experience with requirement management tools (JAMA preferred).
• Ability to write engineering drawings with GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience performing flow/pressure calculations and thermal/structural analyses of fluid systems.
• Knowledge of fluid components: valves, pumps, heat exchangers, tubing, pressurized hardware.
• Understanding standard fluid system fabrication methods (tubing, fittings, welding).
• Excellent verbal/written/graphical communication; ability to build trust.

Responsibilities

• Fluids sub-assembly design and development including CAD modeling and trade studies.
• Generate P&IDs using AutoCAD.
• Develop and maintain test plans for subsystems and components.
• Define interfaces between fluid systems and other subsystems.
• Design and analyze components for fluid, thermal, and structural applications.
• Verify components meet company standards.
