Job summary

Blue Origin in Los Angeles is seeking a Fluids Systems Engineer to join the MK1 Fluids Systems Engineering team within the Lunar Permanence unit. You will apply systems engineering, fluids, and propulsion expertise to develop subsystems for the Blue Moon landers and related products, collaborating across design, analysis, and testing teams.

Candidates should have 3+ years in fluids/propulsion, a related bachelor's, and strong communication; U.S. citizenship or eligible status required.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Physics, Systems Engineering or related technical subject area.
  • 3+ years of proven experience in fluids, propulsion, or aerospace systems.
  • Experience with fluid/gas components i.e., solenoid valves, directional valves, manifolds, regulators, pumps, pressure vessels and instrumentation.
  • Experience withsystemsengineering principles.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communications skills.
  • Ability to earn trust and maintain positive and professional relationships.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

  • Work at significant technical depth on complex subsystems with some oversight as part of the Fluids and Propulsion Integrated Product Team (IPT).
  • Own subsystem level documentation and analyses, incorporating verification data as it becomes available.
  • Ensure timely updates and communication of subsystem level architecture diagrams, schematics.
  • Understand and applysystemsengineering fundamentals across the development cycle ofsystems including concept development, requirements, design, analysis, validation, integrations, safety, configuration management, verification, and test.
  • Integrate between fluids and propulsion subsystem and overall system level vehicle design, analysis, software, and operations.
  • Support the development and execution of component and subsystem tests.
  • Tackle a range of Fluids Systems Engineertasks like leading trade studies, component design/integration, 1st order analysis, and test support
