Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Fluids Test Engineer within the Integration and Test team to lead the design of high-pressure gas and cryogenic fluid systems for lunar transportation initiatives. This role supports the Lunar Permanence business unit and requires travel up to 25% to offsite locations.

You will mentor engineers, perform HAZOP analyses, manage suppliers, and develop test fixtures, while coordinating project plans, budgets, and requirements with customers to advance safe, reusable space

Qualifications

  • BS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of fluids, pneumatic, or cryogenic or similar experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in fluid analysis and piping design.
  • In-depth knowledge of fluid system components (valves, regulators, pumps for cryogenics/propellants).
  • Practical knowledge of piping installation and fabrication methods.
  • Experience with facility instrumentation and Data Acquisition and Control System setup.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and own the design of high-pressure gas and cryogenic fluid systems, including developing process architecture and layout.
  • Design and develop mechanical test fixtures and structural supports.
  • Conduct Process Hazard Analysis activities for fluid systems (HAZOP).
  • Manage suppliers, coordinating cost, schedule, and technical design requirements.
  • Prepare comprehensive project plans including budget, schedule, and work breakdown structures.
  • Coordinate with customers to refine project scope and requirements.
  • Mentor newer engineers and perform peer reviews as appropriate based on experience level.
