Saint Joseph Medical Center - Joliet is seeking an Internal Registry Registered Nurse (RN) for a 12-week assignment in Joliet. This PRN role offers Nights and Days shifts with compensation at $57.50 per hour.

The Float Pool requires competency across two or more units and prompt physician communication. Required credentials include an active RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS within 30 days, with NRP and basic fetal monitoring or AWHONN within 90 days for Women’s Services, and TNCC within 12 months for

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (ARC/AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain.
• Current ACLS (ARC/AHA) certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain.
• Current PALS (ARC/AHA) certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain (Only for floating into ER, OR, PACU, Day Patient).
• NRP and Basic Fetal monitoring or AWHONN within 90 days for employees floating to Women’s Services.
• TNCC within 12 months of hire for employees floating to Emergency Department.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Float RN may be assigned to two or more units and must maintain competency across units.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in the patient’s condition and diagnostic results.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality and respond quickly to changes in condition or response to treatment.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
