Job summary

UCI Health in Irvine, California is seeking a clinical nurse for the Enterprise Float Pool. The role coordinates care with interdisciplinary teams and supports patient advocacy throughout the continuum of care.

The position requires a BSN and at least 2 years of acute care experience, with flexible shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Experience floating between Orange and Irvine campuses is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to float between Orange and Irvine campuses.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to plan and implement care for assigned patients.
• Evaluate patient outcomes and readiness for discharge; revise plan as needed.
• Serve as a role model and mentor to students and nurses new to the unit.
