Job summary

Solis Mammography seeks a Float Mammography Technologist for coverage across Houston area centers. The schedule is Monday–Friday 6:30am–5:00pm with occasional Saturdays; relocation assistance is available for qualified technologists.

A sign-on bonus of up to $7,500 is offered to eligible candidates. You will operate X-ray equipment for mammography, maintain high positioning accuracy, and educate patients about breast health while collaborating with onsite radiologists in ACR-certified centers

Qualifications

• Completion of a two-year approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Current ARRT in Mammography certification or eligible for exam with clinical documentation.
• Texas Medical Board License (TMB) required.
• Continuing Education: MQSA/FDA 15 CEUs every 3 years and 200 documented cases every 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Operate x-ray equipment for mammography procedures with high accuracy.
• Position patients and optimize exposure techniques for diagnostic images.
• Communicate procedures clearly to patients and educate on breast health.
• Coordinate with doctors, patients and staff; maintain patient-first focus.

Work Location: Float Coverage for Houston Area Centers

Work Hours: (Full-Time) Monday-Friday between 6:30am-5:00pm, depending on business needs. (Occasional Saturdays Required)

The Float Mammography Technologist operates x-ray equipment and performs a variety of mammography-related diagnostic procedures. Individual must maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique.

Here is what you will need:

• Texas Medical Board License - TMB
• Current ARRT in Mammography certification or eligible to take advanced level exam with documentation of clinical experience.
• Completion of a two-year approved School of Radiologic Technology
• Continuing Education: MQSA/FDA- 15 CEU’s every 3 years, 200-documented case numbers every 2 years.
• Experience with diagnostic procedures such as ultrasound core and stereotactic biopsies is preferred.

A Day in the Life of a Float Mammography Technologist:

• Provide services and support for the following areas:
• Understands, promotes and demonstrates the Solis Way
• Consistently practices excellent mammography positioning and exposure technique;
• Ability to effectively communicate to patients the procedures and educate women about the role of regular mammography in preventative breast health;
• Ability to effectively communicate on an individual and small group basis to doctors, patients, and other employees;
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes complicated, written or oral instructions;
• Must maintain patient-first focus at all times and exhibit outstanding customer service skills;
• Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
