Job summary

RTX's Collins Aerospace Military Avionics Flight Management team in Cedar Rapids, IA, is seeking a Software Engineer II to design, develop, and test flight management software for military helicopters and aircraft.

You will work in an AGILE, cross-functional environment with 6-10 engineers, applying C/C++, Python, and related tools to deliver reliable flight management solutions while traveling up to 10% domestically or internationally as needed.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
• 2+ years of experience with C, C++, DOORS, ADA, and/or Python.
• 2+ years of experience in a Software role.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test software features for flight management systems integrated into military helicopters and planes.
• Improve knowledge of Software Engineering and Flight Management Systems.
• Integrate soft skills (leadership, communication, coordination, proactiveness) into a dynamic environment that provides quality and timely products to internal and external customers.
• Travel (domestic and international <10%) as needed.
