Job summary

RTX is seeking a Software Engineer II for the Flight Plan Server team in Cedar Rapids, IA. You will develop software for fixed and rotary wing platforms and coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement flight management improvements.

You will mentor peers, participate in agile processes, and ensure the delivery of reliable avionics software across our military aircraft programs. This role emphasizes collaboration, continuous learning, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree.
• Experience designing and developing deliverable software (production or consumer facing).
• Experience with embedded software development.
• Experience with Ada or C/C++.
• Python scripting experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop software for fixed and rotary wing platforms as part of the Flight Plan Server team.
• Mentor teammates on software development best practices and problem solving.
• Implement and verify updates to flight management and graphical flight planning software.
