Job summary

Hyatt Place South Reno is seeking a friendly Front Desk Agent to join our Gallery team in Reno, NV. You will be the first face guests see and the last voice they hear, moving between the front desk, coffee bar, and breakfast area to ensure a smooth stay.

The role blends traditional front desk work with our Gallery service model, requiring strong hospitality skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multi-tasking during busy periods. Training is provided for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel front desk, hospitality, retail, or restaurant experience preferred, though we will train the right person.
• Warm, outgoing communication style and genuine comfort talking with guests.
• Solid computer skills; experience with property management systems such as Opera is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail with cash handling and reporting.
• Ability to stay calm and resourceful when things get busy or go wrong.

Responsibilities

• Welcome arriving guests, complete check in and check out efficiently, and process all payment types accurately.
• Answer phones, respond to guest requests, and follow through until each issue is fully resolved.
• Enroll and service World of Hyatt members, and speak knowledgeably about member benefits.
• Prepare and serve items from our Gallery Menu, keep the coffee bar stocked, and support the daily breakfast service.
• Maintain accurate room inventory, process reservations and modifications, and post charges correctly.
• Balance your cash bank and complete shift closing paperwork.
• Communicate clearly with Housekeeping and Engineering so rooms and requests are handled quickly.
• Follow all brand standards, safety procedures, and emergency protocols.
• Keep the Gallery, lobby, and front desk area clean and presentable at all times.
