Job summary

Allied Universal, a leading security provider, seeks a Part Time Enhanced Armed Security Officer in Houston, TX. The role offers fixed anchor shifts and opportunities to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform to increase earnings.

Requirements include 3+ years in security-related fields or 5+ years armed security, Texas Level III Armed Certification, 21+ years old, and a high school diploma. Pay rate is $22 per hour with standard background checks and training.

Qualifications

• Possess at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, corrections, or military experience, or at least 5 years armed security-related experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store personnel while carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular armed patrols throughout retail sales areas, stockrooms, parking lots, loading areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders.
• Monitor for security-related concerns such as suspicious activity, unauthorized access, theft-related incidents, hazards, and policy violations, and promptly report observations through required channels.
• Maintain accurate activity logs and incident reports, and coordinate with site management, law enforcement, and emergency responders when appropriate.
