Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Houston to provide a dependable, flexible security presence at government facilities. The role features Anchor Shifts with a six-month commitment and the option to pick up extra shifts to boost earnings among multiple sites.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of combined security experience or 5+ years armed security, plus Texas Level III Armed Certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of combined law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience, or 5+ years of armed security experience.
• Be a certified law enforcement graduate.
• Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
• Armed Guard Card or license preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities in accordance with site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned government buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for entry, following established visitor management and access‑control procedures.
• Prepare accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation; communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.
