Job summary

Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM) seeks a Guest Service Representative I at the Mayport Navy Inn. You will serve as the first contact for guests, handle front desk operations, and ensure a welcoming, safe stay with attention to privacy and security at a NHG property.

Responsibilities include processing check-ins/outs, using the PMS to manage reservations, handling payments, and coordinating guest requests. Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

• One year of general office clerical experience.
• One year progressively responsible experience related to the position.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional, courteous guest service; welcomes guests, responds to inquiries and provides information regarding lodging and local attractions.
• Processes guest check-ins/check-outs, verifies eligibility, assigns rooms, issues keys, manages reservations and collects payments.
• Uses the PMS to create, modify, confirm and cancel reservations; maintains guest records and accounts; issues CNA and alternative lodging options when needed.
• Assists management with group reservations and commitment agreements per brand standards.
• Responds to guest requests and complaints; resolves routine issues and refers complex matters to management.
• Operates multi-line telephone systems; records and delivers messages and coordinates guest requests including wake-up calls.
• Coordinates maintenance requests and guest room relocations as needed; relays operational concerns to relevant staff.
• Processes credit card transactions and reconciles daily receipts and guest accounts; prepares shift closing reports.
• Generates PMS reports (arrivals, departures, occupancy, night audit) and corrects discrepancies.
• Maintains front desk inventory, lobby appearance, security of keys, guest records and safety deposits.
• Assists with Lost and Found records and disposal procedures; may support breakfast and other guest services.
• May operate POS for on-site store purchases and assist with inventory replenishment.
• May travel between lodging facilities and requires a valid state driver’s license.
• Works assigned shifts including weekends and holidays; may support operations during emergencies.
• May obtain NHG front desk certification within six months or complete other training.
