Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic/electrical systems, and HVAC components.

You will work on a single fleet with state‑of‑the‑art vehicles, supporting drivers on routes and ensuring timely service. Responsibilities include on‑site and on‑road maintenance, basic line welding, and road service when needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose multi‑system issues and consistently demonstrate technical expertise.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Experience maintaining Class 1‑5 light/medium and Class 7‑8 heavy trucks or similar equipment.
• ASE Certifications (T1‑T8) are a plus but not required.
• Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.
• 3‑5 years of experience in a technician role or graduating from automotive college soon.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a working knowledge of vehicle components and systems with preventive and repair maintenance on‑site and on the road.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Refuse bodies and hydraulic/electrical systems; air and hydraulic braking systems.
• Light engine repair and maintenance.
• Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• Heating and air conditioning.
• Performs line maintenance welding and fabrication.
• Safely provides road service to return equipment to operation.
• Identifies malfunctions using electronic tools.
• Completes required Company training programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
