Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Williamsport, MD is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn driver management, shift planning, and safe, on-time freight movement.

You will support load assignment, route monitoring, and customer service while training on DOT compliance and company policies. Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in a related field or 1 year of related experience, with willingness to travel and relocate as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field or equivalent military experience.
• Willing to travel to account, customer, and company event locations when applicable.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed.
• Willingness to regionally relocate dependent on account assignment.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain positive professional relationships with drivers and safe outside carriers.
• Fill in for absent personnel and work on projects to optimize fleet operations and profitability.
• Learn to train and orient drivers and employees including internal and third-party systems.
• Assist in KPIs, reporting, and financial analysis presented to customers at their location.
• Gain knowledge of inventory, assets, and driver assignments to balance equipment.
• Perform payroll, budgeting, driver counseling, accident reviews, and invoicing tasks.
• Assist with yard management, maintenance coordination, and safety compliance.
• Collaborate with drivers, customers, and staff to resolve service issues and route planning.
• Support safety culture through driver safety messages, briefings, and training.
