J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in the United States is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn and manage a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends.

The role focuses on safe, timely freight movement, load assignment, and top-tier customer service, with training on DOT compliance and safety culture. You will develop skills in fleet operations, budgeting, and reporting while supporting drivers, customers, and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field or GED with 1 year of related experience
• Willingness to travel to account, customer and company events
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights/weekends

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain positive relationships with drivers and carriers to set up new carriers and maximize productivity
• Fill in for absent personnel and participate in projects to optimize fleet operations and profitability
• Learn personnel management including training/orientation of drivers and employees and internal/customer systems
• Develop reporting and financial analysis for customers and internal use
• Assist with fleet and yard management, maintenance scheduling, and safety compliance
• Perform payroll, budgeting, invoicing, and other administrative duties
• Coordinate with drivers, customers, and staff to resolve service issues and route planning
• Support safety culture through driver safety messages and training
