Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. seeks a Manager Trainee to learn the management of a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends, while ensuring safe and timely freight movement and superior customer service.

Under supervision, you will be trained to comply with DOT regulations, manage driver compliance, and coordinate with internal and external contacts to plan, route, monitor, and deliver freight and loads across the network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field or High School Diploma/GED with 1 year of related experience.
• Willing to travel to account, customer, and company event locations.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends.
• Willingness to relocate regionally depending on account assignment.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain positive professional relationships with drivers and carriers to ensure smooth carrier setup and productivity.
• Fill in for absent personnel and work on special projects to optimize fleet operations and profitability.
• Learn to train and orient drivers and employees, including internal and customer systems.
• Assist in planning and monitoring freight and loads, presenting customer-specific reporting and financial analysis.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field

High School Diploma/GED with 1 year of experience in management, transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, or related field, and/or equivalent military experience

Experience managing a team (preferred)

Ability to analyze situations and make decisions

Adapt to changing environments
