J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. in the United States seeks a Manager Trainee to support strategic fleet planning, driver management, and routing optimization. You will learn to coordinate with drivers, carriers, and customers to ensure safe, on-time freight movement and compliant operations.

The program emphasizes payroll, budgeting, and reporting while offering development opportunities across transportation/logistics disciplines and a pathway to leadership roles.

Qualifications

• Minimum education includes a business or logistics-related degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience in management, transportation/logistics, or account management is preferred.
• Ability to travel to account, customer, and company events when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build positive relationships with drivers and outside carriers for onboarding and productivity.
• Cover for absent staff and support special projects to optimize fleet operations.
• Train and orient drivers and internal staff, including customer systems support.
• Analyze and report on KPIs, preparing customer-specific financial reports.
• Manage inventory, assets, and driver assignments to balance equipment.
• Handle payroll, budgeting, driver coaching, and incident reviews.
• Coordinate with maintenance for preventive services and repairs.
• Resolve service issues with drivers, customers, and internal teams.
• Uphold DOT compliance and the company safety culture in daily operations.
• Plan loads, routes, and monitor freight movement to meet schedules and ETAs.
