Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn the management of a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends, while ensuring safe and timely freight movement and top-tier customer service.

You will be trained on DOT compliance, driver management, and costs, with exposure to routing, planning, and reporting to support profitable fleet operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or HS diploma with 1 year of related experience or equivalent military experience
• Willing to travel to account locations when applicable
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed
• Willingness to regionally relocate based on account assignment

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain positive relationships with drivers and safe outside carriers to ensure smooth setup and productivity
• Fill in for absent personnel and contribute to special projects to optimize fleet operations
• Learn to train drivers and staff on internal and third-party systems
• Analyze KPIs and present customer-specific reporting and financial analysis to optimize operations
• Learn to plan loads, routes, and monitor freight movement to meet customer requirements
• Learn to manage yard and coordinate maintenance to ensure safety and uptime
