Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking an Operations Supervisor to support the Operations Manager and lead a shift of technicians in a busy maintenance shop in Indianapolis.

The role focuses on balancing customer needs with financial, safety and quality targets while ensuring uptime and performance against location metrics. The position requires supervisory experience, maintenance/technical shop background, and familiarity with shop management systems and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred or 1–3 years in a maintenance operations environment; demonstrated success in a Ryder role may be substituted.
• Maintenance and technical experience in a shop environment required.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with a Shop Management System preferred.
• Microsoft Office intermediate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Workflow Management: analyze, plan and schedule work for technicians, assign tasks, track productivity and conduct shift/shop meetings.
• Labor Management: manage, train and develop personnel; performance management.
• Customer Management: manage customer relations, ensure vehicle uptime and communicate PM scheduling, follow-up and status updates.
• Asset Management: oversee shop location upkeep, inventory, tooling, equipment and vehicle specs process.
• Quality Management: conduct quality inspections, root cause analysis, corrective actions and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Financial Management: control maintenance costs, payroll, PO approvals, invoicing, bill-back opportunities and data integrity in systems.
