  • Oversee labour management: provide training and development for all personnel, conduct performance management, and support the local workforce on shift day.
  • Manage customer relationships including issue resolution, satisfaction and retention; follow up on preventive‑maintenance scheduling, breakdowns, and vehicle status updates.
  • Direct direct reports in maintaining shop appearance and ensuring 65‑standard compliance in all relevant areas.
  • Evaluate tooling and equipment needs, and recommend improvements.
  • Assist in managing vehicle specifications and the in‑service/out‑service process; ensure that all vehicles meet required specifications in SAM.
  • Oversee parts inventory management, policies and procedures.
  • Lead quality management: perform quality inspections of PM and repairs, conduct in‑process reviews of non‑PM work, conduct root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective actions locally or through the Technical Assistance Center.
  • Maintain shop cleanliness and quality for all serviced vehicles.
  • Collaborate with the Service Manager to ensure technicians are properly trained and qualified; prioritise TOPS plans based on breakdown, rework, and running‑cost trends.
  • Maintain documentation required to meet or exceed local, state, federal, and customer requirements.
  • Ensure employee compliance with safety and EPA regulations.
  • Drive financial performance: meet Net Maintenance Cost per Unit objectives, control cost measures, execute maintenance initiatives, and manage the shift/shop P&L.
  • Handle payroll, purchase‑order approval, invoice and fuel reconciliation.
  • Support the customer bill‑back process, including identification, review, and approval of bill‑back opportunities.
