Job summary

Hogan Transportation seeks a Fleet Manager to provide operational leadership for drivers on a customer account. You will serve as a liaison with the customer to ensure high-quality service and timely deliveries, while solving employee-related issues with independent discretion.

You will coach, train, and monitor drivers, manage schedules, routes, and overall fleet performance, and uphold safety and Hogan policies across daily operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associates degree preferred.
• 2-5 years experience in transportation/trucking.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manages drivers' activities to meet client expectations and Hogan policies.
• Address driver performance issues through coaching and discipline as appropriate.
• Interview prospective drivers and make hiring recommendations.
• Conduct 30- and 60-day driver performance reviews.
• Coach and train drivers on customer service, safety, and Hogan practices.
• Coordinate services to maximize profits and meet customer schedules.
• Schedule and direct drivers to locations based on customer requests.
• Monitor drivers' performance and daily activities and maintain schedules.
• Communicate traffic impacts and contingency plans to drivers to ensure on-time delivery.
• Manage assigned fleet for on-time pickups, routing, hours of service, and cost control.
• Ensure safety compliance and proper training; enforce policies.
• Maintain daily accounting of trucks and drivers.
• Interact with drivers daily to answer questions and ensure loads are delivered safely on time.
• Strive to reduce turnover and promote workforce longevity.
• Ensure payroll accuracy and timely submission.
