Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulics, braking, engines, HVAC, suspension and drive trains. You’ll work with state-of-the-art fleet and support drivers on their routes, with opportunities for training in new technologies and career growth.

The role involves on-site and road maintenance, performing diagnosis with electronic tools, and completing required training programs.

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and consistently demonstrate technical expertise.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Prior experience with, or knowledge of, maintenance work on heavy-duty and light/medium trucks.
• ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.
• 3-5 Years of experience in a technician position or equivalent education.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge and moderate skill in vehicle components and systems for preventative and repair maintenance.
• Performs chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Maintains refuse bodies, including hydraulic and electrical systems; and air/hydraulic braking systems.
• Performs light engine repair and maintenance.
• Maintains suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• Maintains heating and air conditioning.
• Performs line maintenance welding and fabrication.
• Provides safe road service to return equipment to operation.
• Identifies malfunctions using electronic tools.
• Completes company training programs.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
