Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic/electrical systems, HVAC, brakes and drive trains. You will work with a lead technician/ supervisor and support our fleet on-site and on the road.

You will diagnose multi-system issues, perform preventive maintenance, and participate in company training to stay current with new technologies.

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and demonstrate technical expertise.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Experience with maintenance on light/medium and heavy-duty trucks or similar equipment.
• ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.
• 3-5 years of technician experience or graduating from an automotive program soon.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of vehicle components and systems for preventative or repair maintenance.
• Repair and maintain chassis, refuse bodies, and hydraulic/electrical systems; service brakes, suspension and steering.
• Perform line welding and fabrication as needed, and conduct light engine work.
• Provide safe road service to return equipment to operation efficiently.
• Identify malfunctions using electronic tools and complete company training programs.
