Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic/electrical systems, air brakes, engines, HVAC, suspension, and drive train. You may perform basic tire work and respond to on-road service calls to keep vehicles in operation.

Qualifications

• Must diagnose multi-system issues and demonstrate strong technical skills.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Experience with Class 1-5 light/medium and heavy-duty Class 7-8 trucks or equivalent.
• ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.
• 3-5 years of technician experience in gasoline/diesel repair or graduation from automotive school within 3 months.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a working knowledge of vehicle components and systems and performs preventative and repair maintenance on-site and on the road.
• Repair and maintenance of chassis components and refuse bodies, including hydraulic and electrical systems and air/brake systems.
• Light engine repair and maintenance; service suspension, drivetrain and steering systems; HVAC.
• Performs line welding and fabrication as needed.
• Safely provides road service to ensure equipment is returned to operation safely.
• Identifies malfunctions using electronic tools and completes Company training programs.
