Job summary

Republic Services in the United States is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to perform repair and maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis components, refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical systems, and HVAC. You will work under supervision on a single fleet with state-of-the-art equipment, servicing drivers on routes and growing skills across multiple vehicle systems.

Qualifications

Diagnose multi-system issues with technical expertise.
Understand work order labor time standards.
Experience with light/medium/heavy trucks and equipment.
ASE certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
CDL is a plus but not required.
3-5 years in a technician role or automotive college graduate within 3 months.
Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair vehicle components and systems on-site and on-road.
Repair chassis components and refuse bodies including hydraulic and electrical systems; air and hydraulic braking systems.
Perform light engine repair and maintenance.
Service suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
Inspect and service HVAC components.
Perform welding and fabrication as needed.
Provide safe road service to return equipment to operation.
