Job summary

Republic Services in Sandusky, OH seeks a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulics, braking, and HVAC systems. The role emphasizes on-site service and supporting drivers on routes with state-of-the-art fleet technology.

The position requires 3–5 years of technician experience with gasoline/diesel equipment, a valid driver's license, and may involve some welding and training in new technologies.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in a technician role with gasoline and diesel equipment repair.
• ASE Certifications (T1–T8) are a plus but not required.
• Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair vehicle components and systems on-site and on the road.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Refuse bodies and associated hydraulic/electrical systems; and air/hydraulic braking systems.
• Light engine repair and maintenance.
• Work on suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• Service heating/air conditioning and welding/fabrication as needed.
• Provide road service when necessary to return equipment to operation.
• Identify malfunctions using electronic tools and complete training programs.
• Support other duties as assigned.
