Job summary

Republic Services in Dayton, OH is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel fleet equipment across our operations. You will diagnose multi-system issues, perform preventive maintenance, and support on-road service to keep trucks running reliably.

Required: 3–5 years’ experience with gasoline/diesel equipment, ASE T1–T8 is a plus, CDL is a plus, valid driver's license. We offer competitive wages and benefits.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in a technician position demonstrating knowledge of both gasoline and diesel‑powered equipment diagnosis and repair.
• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications (T1‑T8) are a plus but not required.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• Graduating from an accredited automotive college or technical school within the next 3 months is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a working knowledge of vehicle components and systems and performs preventative and repair maintenance on-site and on the road.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic and electrical systems; and air and hydraulic braking systems.
• Light engine repair and maintenance and suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• Heating and air conditioning and welding/fabrication as needed.
• Safely provides road service to ensure equipment is returned to operation safely and efficiently.
