Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, braking, HVAC, and drive train systems. Under supervision, you will work on a single fleet with advanced vehicles, supporting drivers on their routes and ensuring safe operation.

Responsibilities include chassis repair, refuse bodies, engine work, suspension, and air systems, with on-site and road service.

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and consistently demonstrate technical expertise.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Prior experience with maintenance work on Classes 1-5 trucks, and heavy-duty Class 7-8 equipment.
• ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.
• 3-5 Years of technician experience in gasoline/diesel diagnosis and repair or related college/technical training.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge and proficiency in vehicle components and systems, performing preventative and repair maintenance on-site and on the road.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Refuse bodies and related hydraulic/electrical systems; and air/hydraulic braking systems.
• Light engine repair and maintenance.
• Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• Heating and air conditioning.
• Performs line welding and fabrication.
• Provides safe road service to return equipment to operation.
• Identifies malfunctions using various electronic tools.
• Completes required Company training programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned; statements describe general nature, not exhaustive.
