Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair our fleet of diesel tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs, ensuring safe operation and compliance with company policies.

Requirements include HS diploma or GED, 1 year of vehicle maintenance experience or completion of the FedEx Freight Apprentice Program, and ASE certifications and Class A CDL preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of vehicle maintenance experience or completion of the FedEx Freight Apprentice Program.
• One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must possess necessary tools to perform assigned tasks.
• Valid driver’s license may be required depending on work assignment.
• Knowledge of testing equipment, gauges and tools for troubleshooting.
• Basic computer skills and familiarization with diagnostic systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Performs basic diagnostics to identify trouble and makes necessary adjustments.
• Works with other technicians during maintenance and repairs.
• Documents work accurately in writing and electronically.
• Performs safety inspections of equipment and documents the work.
• Performs paint and body work on vehicles, as required.
• Complies with laws, regulations and company policies.
