Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair our fleet of diesel tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and documentation, with emphasis on safety and compliance.

The role requires vehicle maintenance experience or a qualifying certificate, ASE certifications, and a valid CDL preferred. Compensation includes benefits like tool reimbursement and tuition programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED) preferred.
• One year of experience maintaining vehicles or nearing completion of FedEx Freight Apprentice Program.
• One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must possess necessary tools to perform assigned tasks.
• Valid driver’s license may be required depending on work assignment.
• Knowledge of testing equipment and diagnostic systems.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Performs basic diagnostics to identify trouble sources and makes necessary adjustments for safe operation.
• Works with other technicians in performing maintenance and repairs.
• Ensures proper and accurate documentation of all maintenance; completes reports.
• Performs safety inspections of equipment and documents the work.
• Performs paint and body work on vehicles, as required.
• Complies with laws, regulations, and company policies.
