Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician to provide timely, quality maintenance for tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment.

The role covers preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and adherence to safety standards, with emphasis on accurate record-keeping. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, and either one year of maintenance experience or completion of FedEx Freight Apprentice Program, plus ASE certifications and a Class A CDL preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• One year experience in vehicle maintenance or within 60 days of obtaining a vehicle maintenance certificate or completion of FedEx Freight Apprentice Program.
• One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must possess necessary tools to perform tasks.
• Knowledge of testing equipment, gauges and tools for Troubleshooting.
• Basic computer skills including maintenance programs and diagnostic systems.
• Familiarity with gas and diesel engines.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Performs basic diagnostics to identify trouble sources and makes adjustments for safe operation.
• Works with other technicians in preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Ensures proper and accurate documentation of all maintenance; completes reports in writing and electronically.
• Performs safety inspections and, when required, paint/body work on vehicles.
• Complies with laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Performs other duties as required.
