Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair our heavy diesel fleet including tractors, trailers, and forklifts. The role involves diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and accurate documentation.

A year of vehicle maintenance experience or related certification is expected, with ASE certifications and Class A CDL preferred. Tool allowance and tuition reimbursement are included. Starting pay is $30.70 per hour with additional benefits and shift differentials.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• One year experience in vehicle maintenance or certificate from a vocational school or completion of FedEx Freight Apprentice Program.
• One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must possess necessary tools to perform tasks.
• May require valid driver's license depending on assignment.
• Familiarity with maintenance diagnostics and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Conduct basic diagnostics and adjust equipment for safe operation.
• Collaborate with technicians on maintenance and repairs.
• Document all maintenance in reports, in writing and electronically.
• Perform safety inspections and paint/body work as required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
