Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician in Portland, OR to maintain tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment through preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs. The role emphasizes safety and accurate documentation.

You'll perform basic diagnostics, assist with modifications, and collaborate with a team, while adhering to regulations and company policies. Starting pay is $35.80 per hour, with benefits including an annual tool reimbursement allowance and tuition

Qualifications

• One year of vehicle maintenance experience or a qualifying certificate within 60 days.
• Possess or be within 60 days of obtaining a vehicle maintenance certificate.
• Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must possess tools to perform tasks.
• Basic knowledge of diesel engines and testing equipment.
• Valid driver's license may be required depending on work assignment.
• Ability to lift up to 110 pounds with equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment
• Performs basic diagnostics to identify source of trouble and makes necessary adjustments to equipment for safe and efficient operation
• Works with other technicians in performing preventative maintenance and repairs
• Ensures proper and accurate documentation of all maintenance performed, completes reports in writing and electronically
• Performs safety inspections of equipment and documents the work
• Performs paint and body work on vehicles, as required
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
• Perform other duties as required
