Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking Fleet Maintenance Technicians to maintain and repair tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and accurate documentation, with opportunities for safety inspections and body work as needed.

Starting pay is $31.63/hour with an extra $5.50/hour for ASE Master Certification. A $1,000 annual tool reimbursement and tuition assistance for ASE certifications are available; shift differential may apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED), preferred.
• One year experience maintaining vehicles or within 60 days of obtaining a vehicle maintenance certificate; FedEx Freight Apprentice Program acceptable.
• One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must possess tools to perform tasks and a valid driver’s license may be required.
• Knowledge of testing equipment, gauges and diagnostics used in vehicle trouble-shooting.
• Basic computer skills including maintenance programs and diagnostic systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and equipment.
• Perform basic diagnostics and adjust equipment for safe operation.
• Collaborate with technicians on repairs and maintenance.
• Document all maintenance in reports (written and electronic).
• Conduct safety inspections and document findings.
• Assist with paint and body work as needed.
