Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair our diesel tractor fleet, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment. Starting pay is $30.70 per hour with potential bonuses and tool reimbursement.

The role requires basic diagnostics, documentation, and safety inspections, with ASE certifications and a CDL preferred. We offer tuition reimbursement for ASE certifications and shift differentials where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED), preferred.
• One year of vehicle maintenance experience or completion of a vehicle maintenance certificate/Apprentice Program.
• One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must possess necessary tools to perform tasks.
• Knowledge of testing equipment, gauges and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Performs basic diagnostics to identify source of trouble and makes adjustments for safe operation.
• Works with other technicians on maintenance and repairs.
• Documents all maintenance in writing and electronically.
• Performs safety inspections of equipment and documents the work.
• Paint and body work on vehicles as required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
