Job summary

Rumpke is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance staff at our facility. You’ll oversee safety, scheduling, inspections, and repairs, ensuring compliant operations and efficient performance of fleet services.

You will coach the team, manage 6-20 crew members, collaborate with management, and maintain quality standards while driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced waste and recycling environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years managing diesel-powered heavy vehicles maintenance
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs and safety standards
• Knowledge of OSHA and DOT rules is preferred
• Strong communication and leadership skills

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance staff, schedule work, and approve overtime
• Ensure safety, productivity, and quality standards are met
• Perform and supervise vehicle inspections and road calls for repairs
• Monitor parts inventory and manage work orders
• Coach and mentor team, conduct reviews, and enforce policies
• Communicate status with management and operations
