Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Manager to supervise the facility's maintenance staff and ensure a safe, reliable fleet. You will hire, train, and coach the team, manage maintenance budgets, and coordinate with operations to keep vehicles and equipment in optimal condition.

The role requires 3–5 years of prior management experience, familiarity with diesel-powered heavy vehicles, and a strong emphasis on safety and productivity.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of management experience preferred.
• Experience with heavy diesel-powered vehicles and hydraulics is preferred.
• Knowledge of safety standards (OSHA/DOT) is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manage the maintenance staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance reviews and overtime approvals.
• Communicate status of fleet, containers, and equipment with operations.
• Control maintenance costs related to personnel, purchasing, inventory, and outsourcing.
