Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling in Columbus, OH is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance staff, ensure a safe and reliable fleet, and manage costs across personnel, inventory, and outsourcing. The role reports to operations and requires strong leadership, planning, and regulatory knowledge.

You will oversee maintenance operations, drive preventative programs, coach teams, and ensure compliance with OSHA/DOT rules while maintaining records and supporting continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Must have 3–5 years of management experience.
• 3–5 years performing repairs and maintenance on diesel‑powered heavy vehicles, hydraulics, equipment, and related components preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA and DOT rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manages maintenance staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance management, and overtime in a safe manner.
• Communicates fleet status to operations and others; monitors vehicles, containers, and equipment.
• Controls maintenance costs related to personnel, purchasing, inventory, and outsourcing; partners with controller for budget.
