Job summary

Confidential Transportation Company is seeking a visionary Maintenance Manager to lead diesel maintenance, develop a strategic vision for the team, and ensure OSHA compliance. The role requires delegating to maintenance supervisors while fostering a positive, safe, and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities include managing maintenance programs, budgeting, and collaborating with Safety, Risk, and Continuous Improvement teams to drive process improvements and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in maintenance/shop leadership, preferably in transportation.
• Experience managing diesel, battery electric, and hybrid fleets.
• Proven ability to lead safety programs and OSHA compliance.
• Strong cost management and vendor negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance supervisors and develop a comprehensive vision and mission for the maintenance team.
• Foster a diverse, inclusive, positive, respectful, and healthy work environment; promote professional development and mentoring.
• Establish and enforce safety policies and procedures to prevent incidents and ensure OSHA compliance.
• Provide leadership in developing policies to enhance safety and OSHA standards.
• Administer all planned maintenance programs, including safety hazards training and environmental considerations.
• Collaborate with Safety, Risk, and Continuous Improvement teams to implement process improvements for compliance and operational excellence.
• Adhere to preventive maintenance principles and quality management standards.
• Interact with public officials and staff at various levels; build strong working relationships.
• Oversee maintenance budget and track expenses to ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Coordinate with Authority Directors and vendors to manage contracts and capital expenditures.
