Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Manager to lead the upkeep of our diesel and alternative-fuel fleet at one or more locations.

You will supervise technicians, schedule preventive maintenance, and ensure repairs are completed safely and on time for up to 60 vehicles. This role requires strong knowledge of engine and electrical systems, hands-on leadership, budgeting, and vendor management while maintaining compliance with safety regulations and corporate standards.

Qualifications

• Must have strong computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Proven root-cause analysis and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills required.
• Ability to plan, budget, and manage resources effectively.
• Experience with ASE certifications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to technicians and supervise maintenance staff.
• Oversee planning and scheduling of repair work to maximize productivity.
• Maintain preventive maintenance programs and monitor performance.
• Control costs related to personnel, inventory, and outsourcing.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Manage outside repair facilities and track workmanship quality.
• Maintain knowledge of engine, hydraulic, electrical, and HVAC systems.
• Handle administrative tasks including payroll and budgeting.
