Job summary

MV Transportation is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Manager to lead day-to-day maintenance for a fixed-route transit fleet. You will oversee technicians, utility workers and supervisors, set performance expectations, and drive safety, reliability and regulatory compliance.

This role emphasizes staff development, ASE certification, and continuous improvement, with a focus on keeping buses, including diesel, hybrid and EV fleets, on track and within budget.

Qualifications

• 3+ years managing maintenance of a transit bus fleet
• Experience directing 10+ employees (technicians, cleaners)
• Experience with 30+ buses in the last year
• Track and control parts inventories, vendors and suppliers
• Prioritize and manage schedules, projects and assignments
• Manage financial/accounting aspects of fleet maintenance
• Communicate effectively at all levels
• Technical competence in light/medium/heavy-duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance
• ASE certifications are a plus or to be obtained within 6 months
• Knowledge of audits and PM schedules
• Experience with diesel, hybrid and EV buses
• Class B CDL with passenger and air brake endorsements or to be obtained within 6 months
• DVIs and work orders experience

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day maintenance for a fixed-route transit fleet
• Provide strategic leadership to maintenance staff including technicians and supervisors
• Drive safety, accountability, teamwork and operational excellence
• Mentor staff, set performance expectations and promote ongoing training and ASE certification
• Maximize fleet reliability, improve maintenance performance and regulatory compliance
• Support safe and dependable transportation services
