Job summary

The NAPA Auto Parts Private Fleet is seeking to hire a Transportation Coordinator to manage and coordinate logistics for timely movement of goods. Responsibilities include scheduling shipments, communicating with carriers and customers, and tracking performance to ensure efficiency.

Qualified candidates will have experience in transportation or logistics, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with TMS and MS Office. Forklift/hostler experience and a high school diploma are preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain coordination.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices.
• One year of forklift experience or two years hostler experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate transportation schedules for incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Communicate with carriers, drivers, vendors, and customers to arrange pickup and delivery.
• Track shipments and update stakeholders on delivery times.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments and transportation costs.
• Collaborate with DCs, carriers, and customer service teams to streamline processes.
• Analyze transportation costs and recommend efficiency improvements.
• Prepare and generate reports on transportation activities and performance metrics.
• Operate hostler and dock equipment as needed and keep yard organized.
