Job summary

Qualifications

• Proven experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain coordination.
• One year of forklift operation or two years hostler experience with dock equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field is a plus.
• Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate transportation schedules for incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Communicate with carriers, drivers, vendors, and customers to arrange pickup and delivery of goods.
• Track shipments and update stakeholders on expected delivery times.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, transportation costs, and related documentation.
• Handle issues related to delays, damage, or loss during transportation and find appropriate solutions.
• Collaborate with DCs, Carriers, and customer service teams to streamline shipping processes.
• Analyze transportation costs and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reduce expenses.
• Prepare and generate reports on transportation activities and performance metrics.
• Keep the yard organized by positioning trailers and managing traffic flow.
• Work with location team regarding equipment assignment and movement.
• Complete all paperwork associated with the dock to ensure loads are completed timely.
• Perform Hostler duties as needed.
• Utilize proficiency in McLeod software and Microsoft Office to support daily functions.
