Job summary

NAPA Auto Parts is seeking a motivated transportation/logistics professional to manage and coordinate fleet logistics for our Private Fleet. You will schedule shipments, work with carriers and vendors, monitor performance, and resolve transit issues to ensure timely movement of goods.

The role emphasizes coordinating with distribution centers, drivers, and customer service teams while maintaining accurate records and optimizing costs.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain coordination.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices.
• One year forklift experience or two years hostler and dock equipment experience.
• High school diploma; logistics/supply chain degree a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate transportation schedules for incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Communicate with carriers, drivers, vendors, and customers to arrange pickup and delivery.
• Track shipments and update stakeholders on expected delivery times.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain records of shipments, costs, and related documentation.
• Handle delays, damage, or loss and find solutions.
• Collaborate with DCs, TLT Carriers, and customer service to streamline shipping.
• Analyze transportation costs and recommend efficiency improvements.
• Prepare reports on transportation activities and performance metrics.
• Position trailers and manage yard traffic; allocate equipment movement.
• Complete dock paperwork and perform Hostler duties as needed.
• Support daily functions with McLeod software and MS Office; serve as SME for system questions.
