Job summary

Genuine Parts Company (NAPA Auto Parts Private Fleet) seeks a Transportation Coordinator to manage and optimize fleet logistics, coordinating shipments with carriers and vendors and ensuring timely delivery. You will monitor performance, resolve transit issues, and maintain documentation.

The role requires strong organizational skills, TMS and MS Office proficiency, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must have proven experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain coordination.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in TMS and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices.
• One year forklift operation or two years hostler experience with dock equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate transportation schedules for incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Communicate with carriers, drivers, vendors, and customers to arrange pickup and delivery of goods.
• Track shipments and update stakeholders on delivery times.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain records of shipments, costs, and related documentation.
• Resolve delays, damage, or loss during transportation and find solutions.
• Collaborate with DCs, carriers, and customer service to streamline shipping.
• Analyze transportation costs and suggest efficiency improvements.
• Prepare reports on transportation activities and performance metrics.
• Position trailers and manage yard traffic to keep operations smooth.
• Coordinate equipment movement with the location team (trailers/tractors).
• Complete dock paperwork to ensure timely loads; perform hostler duties as needed.
• Utilize McLeod and MS Office tools to support daily functions.
