Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair our fleet of diesel tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment.

Starting pay is $30.70 per hour with opportunities for ASE Master certification bonus, tool reimbursement, shift differentials, and tuition assistance for ASE certifications. The role requires general heavy equipment experience or diesel trade education, strong diagnostics, documentation, and safety practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• 1 year vehicle maintenance experience or cert within 60 days or Apprentice Program completion
• One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE certifications and Class A CDL preferred
• Must possess necessary tools to perform tasks
• Valid driver's license may be required depending on assignment
• Knowledge of testing equipment, gauges and tools used in troubleshooting and repairs
• Basic computer skills for maintenance programs and diagnostics
• Ability to lift up to 110 pounds with assistance/equipment
• Paint and body work experience preferred
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Good written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment
• Performs basic diagnostics to identify sources of trouble and makes adjustments for safe operation
• Collaborates with other technicians on maintenance and repairs
• Documents maintenance in reports, written and electronic
• Performs safety inspections and documents results
• Performs paint and body work on vehicles as required
• Complies with laws, regulations, and company policies
• Performs other duties as required
