Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair the diesel tractor fleet, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair work to ensure safety and efficiency.

The role offers opportunities for ASE certification, tool reimbursement, tuition reimbursement, and shift differential pay. Starting pay is $30.70 per hour with a range up to $33.91.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• One year experience in vehicle maintenance or related certificate program.
• ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must possess necessary tools for tasks.
• Valid driver’s license may be required depending on work assignment.
• Knowledge of testing equipment, gauges and diagnostic systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers and forklifts.
• Conducts basic diagnostics and makes adjustments for safe operation.
• Works with other technicians on preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Documents maintenance reports in writing and electronically.
• Performs safety inspections and documents work.
• Performs paint and body work as required.
• Complies with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Performs other duties as required.
