Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair our diesel fleet, including tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment, using your heavy equipment experience and diesel mechanic training.

Starting pay is $30.70 per hour with additional merit for ASE Master Certification; benefits include tool reimbursement, shift differential, and tuition reimbursement for ASE certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year experience in vehicle maintenance or a related certificate.
• One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must possess requested tools to perform assigned tasks.
• Valid driver’s license may be required depending on work assignment.
• Knowledge of testing equipment, gauges and diagnostic systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Conducts basic diagnostics and makes adjustments for safe operation.
• Works with technicians on preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Documents maintenance in writing and electronically.
• Performs safety inspections and documents outcomes.
• Performs paint and body work as required.
• Complies with laws, regulations and company policies.
