Job summary

Avis Budget Group in Frederick, MD is hiring an entry‑level technician to service box trucks and cargo vans. You will perform preventive maintenance, basic repairs, and tire services, while learning under experienced technicians.

This on‑site role offers hands‑on automotive experience across newer fleets, on‑the‑job training toward ASE certification, and opportunities for growth within Budget Truck operations.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license (Class A/B/C).
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude or prior auto maintenance experience.
• Able to work in a mechanical shop with moderate to loud noise levels.
• Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and continuously stand, bend, reach, walk, sit and kneel.
• Must obtain DOT medical clearance.
• Must be at least 21 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• This position requires regular, on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely.
• 6 months auto maintenance experience or completion of an automotive technical school program is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and light repair on our fleet of box trucks and cargo vans.
• This includes oil and fluid services, tire repairs and rotations, and safe, quality‑focused completion of tasks.
• May assist more experienced technicians and may drive a Budget Truck for testing or operational needs.
• Contribute to vehicle safety, availability, and a smooth rental experience.
