Job summary

Avis Budget Group is hiring an experienced automotive technician to service Budget Truck operations in Frederick, MD. You will perform repairs on a diverse fleet of newer cargo vans and box trucks, including preventive maintenance and diagnostics, across multiple brands.

The role may include mobile repairs, travel to vehicle locations, and occasional driving of Budget Trucks on public roads to support customer needs. A strong emphasis on safety and reliability is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience performing mechanical repairs and diagnostics on medium-duty or heavy-duty equipment.
• At least 1 ASE certification, with the ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year.
• Working knowledge across ASE areas including Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard and complex mechanical repairs on a fleet of cargo vans and box trucks with minimal supervision.
• Include preventive maintenance, oil and fluid services, tire repairs, brake and suspension work, electrical diagnostics, and warranty-related repairs.
• Possibly travel to vehicle locations for diagnosis and repair; may drive Budget Trucks on public roads as part of repair or transport needs.
